The Holiday Hootenanny started with a small group of friends that decided it would be nice to take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle to get together.  With increasingly busy schedules, shopping, company and family parties it became more commonplace to not meet up with friends to exchange holiday greetings or wishes for the New Year.  It was decided that one Friday evening per year of food and drink at a designated location could be dedicated between Thanksgiving and the New Year to remedy this.  Since its inception the Holiday Hootenanny has added various elements to improve the event with the most significant being a raffle for charity that has contributed 1000s of dollars to local Rochester children.

The Hoot Raffle:   The Holiday Hootenanny hosts an annual raffle for charity in which donated items from local businesses are raffled off to its guests.  In the past our sponsors have donated items such as gift cards and certificates, tickets, products, services, food, drink, and much more!  The money collected from the raffle is then added to any proceeds from the event and donated to a local non-profit organization that supports the well being of children.  In the past the Holiday Hootenanny has made donations to The Society for Protection and Care of Children (SPCC), The Dream Factory, and The American SIDS Institute.  If you would like more information on becoming a sponsor of The Holiday Hootenanny, contributing to The Hoot Raffle, or making a direct contribution to our designated charity please visit our Sponsors page or contact us at holidayhoot@gmail.com.
